As of last night Dad is out of the Special Care Unit and has been moved to room 322.
Today he was up walking and sitting. This afternoon the doctors took out the central line. He is no longer receiving nutrition via IV since he is able to eat a full (yet pureed) diet. He is still getting the antibiotics and the Coumiden (sp) for the blood clots.
The doctors are very happy with his progress this week and think he could be release by the end of the week or beginning of next week. We don't know about rehab yet. We would love to see him be able to come home and for Mom to be able to care for him, but understand that we need to do what is best for him.
He is certainly ready to come home! Please pray that if he needs rehab !. He will be content there and 2- that we will find the right place. The one that the hospital suggested does not get good reviews... Arlene
