Prayer Request

The scan this morning showed that Dad has developed blood clots in his lungs. Common after surgery, but still a concern. They have started him on Cumaden to clear them up. Please pray that it doesn't become a problem.

The meaning behind the name

I am a sentimental person. I have many things that I have kept over the years, but perhaps my most treasured item is a small piece of paper from my father.

Caitlin and I were going to visit my brother and I was very nervous to fly with just Caitlin. My dad was the one that drove us to the airport. As I was about to head into the gate Dad hugged me, said goodbye and handed me a folded piece of paper. It said:

"Faith is total confidence in the provision of God. Heb 4:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him."

That note has been hanging on my fridge ever since and I read it almost everyday. It makes me stop to look at my circumstances and reminds me to put them in God's hands. What better gift can a father give his children then to remind them that God is in control?
